Lee Mills Minatures

As part of my community project I visited Lee mills - The Knitting and Crochet Guild. While I was there I took the time to look for any miniature treasures I could find. I thought it would be interesting to see what tiny treasures the guild might have to inspire my miniature project. I photographed my findings and put a 20p next to the artefacts to give an idea of scale. Here are the treasures I have found,

Tiny Purse
 Tiny Mittens
 Tiny Socks

 Tiny Dolls Dress
 Tiny Knitting
I was inspired by these tiny items and wanted to create my own miniature knitted sample.

I did this knitting with tooth picks and wool. It was very fiddily to do and very easy to make a mistake so i had to work carefully and slowly. I am very happy with the result and if i had more time i would want to continue with this sample to see what it might lead to.
