The
artist that have inspired my theme of food are firstly Christopher Boffoli in
the initial stages. I found a humorous and amusing quality to how he uses food
as a set and scene for his miniature people.
This led me to look for other
artists who use food as a theme. I found the work of Shay Aron
and Kim Burke
who both make amazingly realistic miniature food out of polymer clay that look
good enough to eat.

From
what I have found, it seems that miniatures have a cuteness to them and is something
that many people are fond of, and I think this applies particularly to miniature
food. I think the theme of food is attractive as well as humorous. On top of
this everyone can relate to food as it’s something that we all need. I want my
theme to be about the cuteness and for it to be aesthetically pleasing and I am
hoping for a happy, admiring kind of reaction.
