Daniel Dorall

Daniel Dorall has a huge passion for creating miniature maze-like constructions. He wants to make himself aware that his creations are purposefully built to employ the maze as a conceptual medium. The maze represents a constructed space that has been stripped of all functional state. He has place little human figures that have the purpose of showing that their work needs to seek some form of resolution. He has created a theme where he shows self-expression, memory, mythical/historical enactments, which fold into human dramas, strength, comedy and pathos. On of my favorite pieces is where there are military figurines walking on a long march, as per orders in this onwards spiral, passing repetitive landscapes. To me when I see this piece, I feel like the soldiers are marching towards impending doom.
